I purchased this device because I have a simple problem that many like me have. I work tethered to a desk all day in front of a computer and sometimes my shoulders and neck get so tight it’s almost debilitating. Ok, maybe I’m being dramatic there, but it’s really uncomfortable. I’ve tried all kinds of stretches but the truth is, I really do need to be more diligent about exercise and particularly some yoga stretches to stay limber. But I digress.
I got this just this morning and couldn’t wait to try it out. The first 10 minutes I felt like an idiot. I looked at myself in the mirror. The bottom of my face looked kinda squished and I really didn’t feel a whole lot of release. Then 5 minutes later, I pumped it up a little more and wiggled my neck some, keep good posture while seated. I pumped it up a little bit more. Within 25 minutes I definitely felt something but I just wasn’t sure if it was a big deal.
Then I slowly released the pressure, turned my head left and right, wiggled it back and forth and that was over 3 hours ago. My shoulders haven’t felt this good in a really long time. I’m telling you, no tightness whatsoever, no cracking in my neck when I turn it back and forth. Wow! I am so impressed and I’m going to use it later on again while I watch a movie and sip on a margarita.
I’m no doctor and cannot dispense medical advice, but for the price, what have you got to lose? Give this product a try. I hope it lasts awhile and if you’ve seen any of my other reviews, you know I’ll be back to report if it doesn’t.
Also, a couple people here commented on the smell. Yes, it does have a kinda moth-bally smell to it but tonight I’ll stick it in a zip bag with a dryer sheet and I’m sure that’ll take the smell away. It’s not at all a musty smell; just seems like whoever stored these wanted to make sure it stayed dry and fresh. Kinda like that cheap plastic smell of new products masked with moth balls. Small bother – but this is just great. I’ve gotta go now and post a pic of me with it on to my Facebook page.
Oh, one last thing. I’m 5’0″ with, I guess, an average size neck. I didn’t feel choked at all, but I can imagine a more average size person might experience what some suggest is an uncomfortable tightness around the neck. I guess positioning the Velcro straps differently would help alleviate that a bit.
